About These Scales
°NNewton
The Newton scale was devised by Isaac Newton around 1700. On this scale, water freezes at 0N and boils at 33N. It was one of the first attempts to create a standardized temperature scale.
°DeDelisle
The Delisle scale is unusual because it runs in the opposite direction to other temperature scales. Water boils at 0De and freezes at 150De. It was invented by Joseph-Nicolas Delisle in 1732.
